About us: Markham Lutheran Church (MLC) was established in Markham, Illinois, "the Prairie City in the Prairie State," 80 years ago. The Lutheran Church is a sacramental church, which can be summed up in the phrase "God always comes down": Grace is God's free gift: "...while we still were sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom 5:8b, NRSV). We experience it through Baptism, God's Word, and Holy Communion. At worship, we meet God's grace in the word, water, bread, and wine. Through these means, God strengthens us in our confidence and faith and our love and concern for each other and the world.
As a visitor, we welcome you in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As a prospective member, we invite you to discover how becoming a part of our church family may serve your needs, and to explore how your talents may be used in the Lord's work in our congregation and the community.
Come celebrate Jesus!
